The Future For Internet Business For Beginners…

Once again it has been a few months since I wrote a post for this site, the last piece of content being one of my first video blogpost ever recorded, about persistence. If you wanted to check that out, here’s a link…probably fair to say my video work needs some practice, but I’ll get there!

The real reason for writing this post was to tell you, as my followers and readers, what my future plans are for this site, and what I will be doing to give you the best possible value I can from my content.

A Video Blogpost At Last – Don’t Give Up!

YouTube Preview ImageMy first video blogpost for internet business for beginners – and to be honest it is at least take 5!  I have however been following my own advice and perservered!  Please drop over to Youtube and follow my channel, and also please do let me know what I am doing wrong in the comments below!

The Online Apprentice Episode 5

For those of you who started to follow this series in 2011 when I started this on Internet Business For Beginners, I can tell you that the project is still alive and well, as is the site I am creating for this, namely Marathon Running For Beginners, which lives at www.marathonrunningforbeginners.com.

I have enjoyed the process to a large extent, and the purpose of this particular post is to share two particular lessons I have learned during this process. But first an update…

Goal Setting Is Just Dead Wrong…

I know I know…shock horror…what am I thinking writing this post???

After all, wherever you look on the internet, particularly in the internet business genre, you’ll find reams of information on goal setting, particularly a lot about SMART goals ( in case you didn’t know, the acronym stands for Specific, Measurable, Agreed, Realistic and Targeted).

Lots of far more eminent bloggers than I have expounded on the subject, so who am I to say otherwise…?

Why I Don’t Believe In New Years Resolutions…

Before I get started, I should probably just say that this isn’t some kind of “bah humbug” rant based around the time of year – it is a subject that cropped up recently and I was interested to hear people’s responses. It also appealed to my contrary nature, so there was a little self interest there too!

You’ll Have Heard This By Now…Maybe You’ve Said It…

This is a great time of year for conversations that go along the lines of:

“Next year I am going to lose weight/go the gym/start a business/get a new job/move house/meet my soul mate etc etc etc…”

Been Gone Too Long…

Well it has certainly been a while since I posted on what is probably my favourite site to work on, as it is based around one of my favourite subjects – internet business, and specifically helping internet beginners with their businesses.

So why has it been so long since I last wrote for this site? For the record the last time I posted was 17th October, which by the time this post hits the site, will be pretty much four weeks.

Which is way too long, by any standards…certainly for internet business!

The Online Apprentice 2011 Episode Four – Niche Chosen!

If you saw last weeks post, you’ll have seen me letting rip an on-line version of a scream as I had managed to get myself in a right old state about the subject of picking my niche. In case you missed that post, here is a link.

Anyway, after lots of soul searching, and generally banging my head on solid objects, I was in fact saved by the postman. Unusually for me, I was at home when the postman delivered our mail a week or so ago.

Argghhhh! Niche Selection – The Eternal Problem!

This is post I never thought I would write, as I didn’t think it as a problem I’d ever have – niche selection for an on-line business, specifically the business I am starting online as a part of the Online Apprentice 2011 challenge.

I did suspect however that if I did encounter a problem, it would be based around having too many ideas, rather than too few, and I was certainly right about that. My past experiences ought to have given this away. These are the businesses I currently have on-line (or am responsible for websites on):

The Online Apprentice 2011 Week Three Module One and Two!

By now, if you’ve been reading my posts and you’re an observant sort of person, you’ll have noticed that although the title of the posts shows as Week One, Week Two etc, these posts are a little more than a week apart…

Well the honest truth is that I had a few days off from everything, and also I have been really busy in my personal life, so I haven’t got around to working through the course quite as quickly as I might have liked.

Help! I Feel Overwhelmed!

Welcome to the latest post in the bonus series that goes along with the Online Apprentice 2011 – stress and overwhelm.

Last time we looked at time (or perceived lack of it) and how to deal with that.

This post covers the other feeling that also goes with the time problem, overwhelm and stress. It is certainly something that virtually every person encounters when trying to start a business up, whether that is an online internet business, a regular business or a combination of both, whilst trying to also hold down a full time job.
